A Teaching From Bud Millington
A brother asked, “How shall the elect be deceived?”
Pondering upon that, this is what the Holy Ghost led me to see…
Actually, the elect is NOT deceived. Let us now go see what THE BIBLE says…
Matthew:
24:7 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
24:8 -All these are the beginning of sorrows.
24:9 - Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
24:10 - And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
24:11 - And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24:12 - And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:23 - Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
24:25 - Behold, I have told you before.
24:26 - Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
24:27 - For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
So...we see:
1) Rising conflict apparently between good and evil as evidenced by...
2) Hatred and persecution of Believers.
3) Betrayal..."offended" means to quit or give up, to collapse under pressure. Remember, in the Parable of the Sower of the Seed some grew up, but when persecution arose, collapsed under the heat, gave up and quit (the sun came up and defeated the seed that fell into shallow ground.)
4) Iniquity which also means injustice or betrayal shall abound, and love shall grow cold. Remember, Love is the first fruit of the Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness and Temperance.) Temperance means self-control or the ability to withstand pressure without caving in, the opposite of the Seed in shallow ground. How do you develop fruit? Go back and read John's Gospel the 15th Chapter again, and read the first few verses of John's Gospel Chapter 16 - by being DILIGENTLY devoted to prayer and the Word of God.
5) The appearance of false Christs, who will be presented to you as worthy to be followed by their disciples. We are warned that when the real Christ returns, it will be as the lightning lighting up the whole sky-the whole world will see it in an instant-remember Messiah told people (like Pilate) “You WILL see Me coming back in the clouds with great glory…”
6) Production of signs and wonders. Remember those that said, "Lord, Lord, did not we do mighty works in Your Name?" Matthew 25 - which comes after Matthew 24 - where it's mentioned concerning the elect and deception--hint, hint--there's a connection! Matthew 25 deals of the ten virgins, not being ready, refusing to produce (lazy servant who buried his talent) and -in conclusion- Yeshua stating the PROOF HE APPLIED that the sheep was a sheep and not a goat was making sacrifices to HELP THE BRETHREN!
By the by: go read the 1st Epistle of John, the 3rd Chapter again.
Such vast multitudes of Believers run here and there seeking the latest sign, the latest supernatural happening--but where are the Believers who pray through, intercede for the lost, study the Word diligently, and serve the Brethren? How many all night prayer meetings have I held--for over ten years--and not one person showed up--though many promised they would? How many were willing to go with mentors into the hospitals or prisons and work with the suffering? How many have I met that actually fast, and make sacrifices to help the poor? I tell you the truth, in over twenty years of serving Messiah, having been in dozens of churches, I could count them on one hand...
My Conclusion:
Because Christians will fail to stay in the Spirit (Prayer, Worship, Fasting) and God’s Word, WHEN (not “if”) the end comes, and PERSECUTION arises, many Christians will cave in because they have weak roots in themselves and will take the world’s side AGAINST the faithful Brethren in the time of trial! To escape persecution, they will turn in their fellows, and rush to bow down to whatever false Christ the world presents them. Not unlike the Middle Ages where you had to reject Messiah and the Word, bow to the Pope, or be burned at the stake.
Because of their failure to prepare and steel their hearts against the day of persecution by being sold out to God’s Spirit and Word, and their refusal to stand up for the Truth -the Bible- they will fall for the false religious leaders’ miracles and signs. I believe this (RELIGION) is the STRONG DELUSION YHWH allows to come upon men! They will (dare I say it) be devoted to building up denominations, religions, and false leaders INSTEAD of being devoted to serving Christ (Lord, I buried my talent…)
II Thessalonians 2:
11 - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12- That they all might be DAMNED who believed not the truth (the Bible), but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(And in context, it was just previously speaking of the Anti-Christ and false miracles…)
But, because they are not in harmony with God, they will fail to do what He considers TRUE devotion, praying, fasting, praising, staying in the Bible day and night, serving the least of all Saints, visiting those in prison, feeding those that hunger, clothing and housing those that suffer from exposure, and helping those sick and in the hospital. Thus they will hear Him say, “Depart from Me into the Lake of Fire, I never knew you!”
But because of all their RELIGIOUS works, they will boast, “Lord, Lord, did not we do great and mighty works?” They will THINK they are “right with God!”
Far fetched? Just look around. So many Christians today follow after fancy, rich, famous ministers (Anti-Christs) but will NOT listen to the Bible! So many follow the laughing revival, gold dust revival, and even bona fide miracles! But God tests us by our FRUIT, not the Gifts of the Spirit! Remember Paul saying LOVE (Fruit) is of far greater weight with God than TONGUES (Gift)?
I’ve personally experienced politically correct “Christians” attacking me verbally (a few physically) because I will not just shut up and go with popular humanistic thought. They even accuse me of being a false brethren because I won’t accept abortion, homosexuality, Rome’s doctrines; I could go on and on. To be loved by the popular crowd, to avoid persecution --because they have no root in themselves-- not much Word or submission to the Holy Ghost --they quickly abandon the Bible and His Holy Ghost unctions to follow whatever idea is popular.
And quite frankly, I have no problem whatsoever seeing these same lukewarm Believers rushing to turn me into the police when the Beast and his mark come, and true Christianity is outlawed, or viewed a “terrorists” who have “extremist views.”
So…nothing is happening that hasn’t been happening all along, it just appears it will be simply much more intense in the last days.
How shall the (if it were possible) elect be deceived?
By thinking they can be lukewarm, live any old which way, despise the godly brethren, ignore the plight of the poor, follow after religious MEN instead of God, devote themselves to building religions and denominations instead of serving the Saints, neglect His Spirit and His Word…and think they are right with God!
But the Bible says they will NOT escape the Lake of Fire, God surrendering them to STRONG DELUSIONS!
By having confidence in being religious and following the traditions of men; by seeking after signs and wonders, instead of servitude to God and the Brethren, by NOT being Holy Ghost led and Bible taught.
That’s how.
